Stop start labour?

Hi ladies,

I'm currently pregnant with baby number 3. I was induced with my first, and had a planned c section with my second, so have never gone into spontaneous labour.

Since last week (35 weeks, now 36 weeks) I get this really really painful sharp cramp feeling all over my bump for a few hours. This then turns into regular contractions for a few hours, which then stop?

The first time it happened I went to hospital where they monitored me and confirmed the contractions. Once they had stopped I was allowed home but told to come back if I had any concerns. It's happened another 2 times since then but the contractions never get more painful, and are never followed with breaking waters etc. I have lost my plug but that's it.

Anyone have any sort of experience with a stop start labour like this? I'm only 36 weeks and can't imagine this going on for potentially another month!?

Hi I’ve just come across your post as I’m in the exact same position. Went into hospital Monday having lost my plug and had regular contractions. Decided to come home until they got more intense, went to bed and they stopped. Had a bloody show Tuesday and nothing since. I’m 35+4 now. 4th pregnancy, previous 3 pregnancies were all at 35-36 weeks gestation. How did you get on? Are you still pregnant or did you go shortly after?

I'm still pregnant, 38+3 now and booked for a c section on Tuesday. Just want him here now! This is also my 3rd baby

Oh bless you. You must be fed up too but at least you have a date to look forward to now. I’m having a boy too, they’re clearly trouble already!

I woke up having some pains this morning but they have stopped…again! I’m not getting my hopes up anything will happen yet but its exhausting wondering everyday if today will be the one, knowing there’s still another possible 4+ weeks to go.
