I know it’s very early and more prone for errors so please be kind. I’m having a hard time with this rainbow pregnancy and was very anxious about the gender because I had to wait months to find out I lost a baby girl.

I was told boy. I just got a little confused when I reviewed the pictures because it doesn’t look overly boyish from what I’ve seen but it also looks like there has been some cord imaged?

Just looking for some advice. We’ve had weekly scans and I’d never seen much in between the legs and all nub theories came back a strong girl so just want to be sure. It came as a bit of a shock

I've just had a look and compared to my boy scan and it looks very similar, I'm now 25 weeks and definitely having a boy. All nub theories came back saying girl for us too. Can you book in for another scan just to be sure? If not, they'll double check at your 20 week scan x

Looks like a boy to me.

That's his scrotum

I’m pretty sure that’s a boy. Can you post your nub pics? I’m curious

Just for anyone else who might come accross this I thought I would update. I decided not ask to ask at the anaomoly scan but had another check yesterday and they are saying they don’t think baby looks like a
boy but can’t be sure due to position. I will remain team white for now. I’m not sure whether it was a strong gut instinct or the fact I had such a clear nub shot at 14 weeks but I just knew I shouldn’t trust it.

After researching, I’ve found that it’s really not a good idea to have a private scan before 16 + 3, just be patient and wait until the anatomy scan to be sure.

There’s also a lot of misinformation on these boards tbh.

it’s not THAT unusual to confuse a girl for a boy when it’s done early as girls can be swollen and appear as though they have boy parts. Believe me, I was surprised to find as many stories as I did.

I see a lot of ‘it’s rare they get it wrong’. But the sonographer is not getting it wrong. It’s just not always clear when done early. When looking at the T’s & C’s I signed for the private place, they clearly stated this can happen.

be patient everyone and save yourself the confusion I’m left with 😂

Swollen girls scanned early can appear this way due to hormones. No scan is 100% especially that early so I shouldn’t have asked here.

That is not a swollen girl, that’s 100% a boy

I wouldn’t put much stock on nub theory, there’s hardly any evidence for it so you might as well flip a coin. The ultrasound looks like a boy. Are you hoping it’s a girl because you’re still grieving the girl you lost?
