Maternity bras often double as nursing bras so have drop cups. Also they often have more adjustability in the back than a regular bra.

Not much point in getting a drop-down bra for pregnancy in my opinion. I went up two cup sizes when breastfeeding, so I needed new bras for nursing anyway. Drop-down nursing bras aren't as supportive as regular non-underwired as well. Seeing as you're in a big cup size (as I was) I would recommend the good quality non-underwired. I really needed the support!
