Positive stories - 5 weeks pregnant, early scan after previous ectopic

Hi there mumsnet peeps,

Has anyone got any positive stories about having an early scan after a previous ectopic and it all being OK?? Please 🙏

I lost my right tube in 2020 after an ectopic. I'm now pregnant and, of course, so so happy I was able to conceive. But now my early scan looms to check if baby is in the right place and my anxiety is through the roof. I've had no symptoms of ectopic, no bleeding/no painful cramps on one side. I have had a few twinges here and there on the left where my remaining tube is, but I think also on the right too. So hard not to overthink.

Anyone been in my shoes and got the all clear I would be so grateful to hear from you.

Me! My little one is happily dancing around downstairs right now 😊
I too was riddled with anxiety after losing a tube, I had lots of twinges with the next pregnancy on one side which didn’t help but she was all in the correct place. I lost a lot of joy in my pregnancy due to anxiety and I feel sad about that now so after your scan take a deep breath and try and enjoy the rest of it as much as you can (definitely easier said than done) 😊 xxx

Thank you @Ratw21 So happy you got your little one.

Out of interest, did they tell you what twinges on tube side were ever?

Thank you, it was a long journey to get here!

No unfortunately not, I had lots of weird twinges throughout, I honestly think they there’s so many things going on in your body they don’t now what it is a lot of the time!
I know you can have a cyst there in early pregnancy though which can cause a bit of pain.

I had an ectopic last year, without losing a tube. I have had 2 pregnancies since in the correct place. Although sadly the first one ended in MC, I am currently 22 weeks pregnant. Pregnancy is anxiety ridden following loss but it is definitely possible to have an in uterus pregnancy following an ectopic. Sorry for your loss and good luck with this future pregnancy.

I've had two pregnancies since my ectopic and tube loss and both were uterine pregnancies. The first ended in early miscarriage and the second pregnancy is 40 weeks today.

Hopefully all will go well for you at your scan - remember a normal uterine pregnancy is much more likely than another ectopic and lots of women who have an ectopic will go in to have successful pregnancies.
