HCG up over 150% in 48 hours

I had an early early scan on Wednesday due to previous complications and I would have been 18dpo, but they obviously couldn’t see anything. My HCG came back at 210 so looks like I’m very early. I had my second HCG test today and it’s come in at 568.

I have never had good news from HCG tests so this is new to me. My son only increased 58% in 48 hours, although went on to he completely healthy. I’m obviously over the bloody moon.

Is this enough of an increase to be twins?? I have another scan on Tuesday but would like some opinions, I’m fully aware no one can tell me for sure but I’m terrified of a molar so trying to think positively.

These were my levels and I'm now 7 weeks, not sure if it's useful? X

So if I continue increasing at the current rate (150% every 48 hours), by 6.5 weeks my HCG would be 138,671 Confused

I'm not too sure they told me at my local epu when you get to 6 weeks they take longer to go up and then they level themselves out. Sorry not very helpful

This is good, should be increasing very quickly in the first few weeks, then it will level off

steammcqueen · 31/05/2024 20:40

It's not An indicator of twins. My hcg at 13 DPO equivalent (8dp5dt) - with twins - was 160 ish

At 18 DPO if you were 210
So even if you conservatively half it every 48 hours
Then 16 DPO 105
14 DPO 50 which actually puts you in a range whereby many ivf clinics would success could go either way but you could have had a late implanted or be a day or so off with your ovulation date
That being said there is some studies which suggest high hcg in early pregnancy is an indicator of a girl and boys tend to be low and slow

Those levels seem great, out of interest perhaps more in line with 15 and 17 dpo - is there any chance you ovulated a few days later than you thought?

Hope everything stays good news for you x

I know theres alot of talk about higher HCG levels being twins, but theres definitely no way to know until the heartbeat scan to see if its twins or not.

My HCG was 581 11DP5DT and 40,258 at 6 weeks 4 days (clinic said expect around 32,000 average at 6 week) - its just a singleton. My friend had triplets and her levels at the same time were only just a little bit more than mine.

Nope, I know my exact ovulation day as I feel it Smile

Hi,
Not sure if this is helpful at all but I was getting mine done as I was worried my first draws were at 4w 1 day 265.5 then 4w 3 days 544.9
then my set this was was 5w 1 day 2,995 (which I was worried about initially) then second set yesterday 5w 3 days was an amazing 7,507
I haven’t had any ultrasounds yet I have one booked for 7w an early reassurance scan :)

I also got a really early Bold positive at 3w2 days and also a positive on how many weeks digital test at 3w 2 days 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don’t think numbers really help so much with twins cause some people have really high number with singleton and higher than some with twin some people pregnant with twins have had lower than me at this point or the same so who knows xx
