I just found out I’m pregnant . I’m 42 , 3 children . Last year we had a loss at 12 weeks it was awful and took me a long time to get over it . We gave up trying as I didn’t want to risk another loss , started loosing weight and decided to try mounjaro for weight loss and just found out I’m pregnant ckearblue 2-3 period due today . Hubby is super happy , I’m not telling anyone else yet . The thing is I’m so scared it will be another loss . How can I stop myself from going crazy .

My understanding is that all of the weight loss injections are really not recommended during pregnancy.

@AlbertVille thats such an insensitive comment. The poster asked for help with anxiety not another thing to worry about. I would imagine she's sought medical advice on current medication already....
I had 5 mc between my babies, the anxiety is something else isn't it. All I can say is be kind to yourself, set yourself small milestones, and continue with things 'non baby' like hobbies, days out ect to try to prevent the pregnancy taking over your life. And the biggest one, stay off Google if you can, genuinely the most anxiety inducing thing for me. I had to physically block certain sites from my phone.
All the best to you, I hope you can find some ways to cope, but being realistic pregnancy after loss is never easy, it's OK not to enjoy every minute. Hand on heart looking after a newborn has been 100x easier mentally than the pregnancy was.

Congratulations! I understand as I was in the same position. The anxiety is difficult but I looked after myself, imagined my life in a year’s time and tried to get on with day to life. He’s now 24 xx

Congratulations!! I am so happy for you. First, pray. Just try to relax, eat well and sleep well. Find a good doctor which you can feel comfortable with. Lastly, try talk to your husband about your worry. Let him support you.

Thank you so much for your kind words . I’m sorry for your losses . We had 2 losses prior to my last child ( now 2 and half ) . But last years one was the only one after 12 weeks . It left me on hedge so much .

Of course, it wasn’t meant as a criticism at all. It was just to make sure your knew.

I hope you have a healthy and happy pregnancy.

It's really tough I'm 37 weeks after a 12 year IVF journey including a miscarriage last year, earlier than yours at 9 weeks. All you can do is take it a day at a time, unfortunately there is nothing you can do that will influence the outcome either it will develop successfully or it won't..that may sound harsh but for me it helped to repeat that to myself as I found myself thinking things like 'if I don't worry enough about this scan it'll be bad news'
Thankfully I've been much better later in pregnancy but those 1st weeks were hard you will get through it though whatever the outcome.

LizzeyBenett · 30/05/2024 14:27

First congratulations second I think as the pregnancy goes on and you have 12 week scan and then 20 week scan it will help you settle ? I was 3 days into taking my first round of IVF tablets which are contraindicated in pregnancy when I decided to take a pregnancy test just to be in the safe side as I was having cramps and here I am almost 37 weeks and baby is fine . I had a previous loss and honestly I've worried a lot about everything but not about the medication I took . A lot of the weight loss injections are causing pregnancies so if there was a significant danger to the baby I think we would of heard more about it by now , best of luck x

So many stories are coming out about weight loss drugs allowing people to get pregnant after previous losses and fertility issues, don't feel guilty for taking them as they could be the cause of your little miracle!

Maybe do some more research to check on the impacts and how it works to give you some peace of mind?

Hoping you've got a sticky bean in there!!
