Acid reflux!

Can someone please advise! I’m 32+6 and acid reflux has got so much worse to the point I’m going through sachets of gaviscon a day. It’s making me feel so crap and nauseous I don’t want to eat but have to for the baby. Can anyone recommend anything else or how to get it to ease off. The sachets work immediately but then an hour later it’s back 😫

I bought some nexium tablets from boots and can't believe the difference x

Omeprazole was the only thing that helped me too after about 26 weeks- sorry! Am now 24 weeks with number 2 and it’s ramping up
again so do feel your pain! X

Honestly I know it sounds pathetic and it’s ‘only acid reflux’ but it’s so uncomfortable and nauseating. Is it true it means baby has a lot of hair 🤔🤣 x

Have you tried Peptac? It's like concentrated gaviscon but it is actually working for me atm. I'm 34 weeks, gaviscon does not touch the sides. Then my orthodontist of all people recommended it. I'm now her biggest fan haha.

Nope but I’ll get some tomorrow I’m willing to try anything at this point thank you!

No it’s awful!!!! Honestly, you can’t believe how sick and rubbish it can make you feel. It did for my little one. She had so much hair! X

OP have you tried Gaviscon double action tablets? The sachets do not work for me at all but the tablets do. On my worse days I’m taking around 5 tablets, think you’re allowed to take a max of 8 per day.

paristotokyo · 28/05/2024 23:48

Very true in my case about baby having masses of hair and the reflux!!! I didn't have any reflux with my first and he was bald as anything lol

Elisabeth3468 · 29/05/2024 07:40

@AimeeLou84 I know you probably don't want to take it but it's more harmful the acid going into your oesophagus as can cause inflammation. If you are that uncomfortable deffo get some , it will sort you right out xx
