Just as the thread says...just been admitted as I came in feeling very unwell with low sugars (I have GD). Happened to mention that I'm getting over a chest infection and keep peeing when I cough and the doc checked me out and tests have shown I've ruptured membrane and leaking waters 😩😩😩 my infection markers also up so that's a worry too. Anyone have any positive experiences of similar? If the infection isn't a worry and he stays out Will I have to stay in hospital? Lots of my googling says you usually go into labour shortly after waters going but I think I've been leaking for a fair few days without realising. I have no signs of labour except maybe a little lower back ache. Any advice is welcome 😢

I lasted 11 days after mine and DS was born at 35.5. Looking back though, I think they had leaked on and off for a while - but in such small amounts that I thought (like you) it was pee. I didn't have to stay in hospital, but I had to take my temp every 4 hours day and night. Since you're not quite so far along I expect they'll want to give you steroids for baby's lungs and keep a close eye.

Hey OP. I was in at 27 weeks after my test come back positive for preterm Labour (in the end it wasn’t!), but they told me I’d be on steroids to help the babies lungs develop then be sent home if I felt comfortable until labour began. Fast forward to last week where I was leaking at 32 weeks (only pee thank god) but they told me if my waters had gone I’d be on antibiotics and sent home as it doesn’t necessarily mean the baby is going to come and their head could block the exit so water is only released in little dribbles.
I hope all is ok I’m sure you’ll be fine as in best place now

Thanks both yes so I'm staying in for a few days to be monitored and if all is well can go home for bed rest and frequent monitoring. I am having the steroid injection just in case but hoping we can move me elective c section forward to 37 weeks and keep him in til then 🙏 feeling a little less scared now and like we have a plan just what to keep him cooking a bit longer. Got a scan tomorrow morning to check how much fluid I've lost 🤞🤞🤞🤞

My waters broke at 34 weeks. Dc wasn't born til 36 weeks. I was in lots of antibiotics and had regular monitoring. He was absolutely fine.

I also had the steroid injection and scan. I had a massive gush. I also tested positive for group strep b, which is why I think they broke in the 1st place. I had IV antibiotics in labour.

My waters broke at 33.5 weeks and I ended up being induced at 37. I was on antibiotics, and given steroids after they broke, but never went in to labour.
