Enlarged lymph node

Hand hold please!!!!
Im currently 29 weeks pregnant. I’ve had pain in my left breast on and off for around 6 weeks, it tends to be at the side of my breast and in the armpit fold. Went to the GP who couldn’t feel anything and advised pain isn’t on their referral so to go back in a couple of months if I still gave it. I’ve left it a couple of weeks but anxiety got the better of me and I booked a private ultrasound, which I went to this morning. Breast tissue looks fine in both breasts, but he did advise that one of my lymph nodes on the left side is measuring 20.8 x 5.7 x 6 mm😞. In desperation I asked if it could be due to a cold that’s turned up in the last couple of days and he said possibly. I’m now panicking because the pain has gone on for weeks now and is in the place of the swollen node. When I feel along the side I can’t feel anything out of the ordinary and it doesn’t always hurt to touch. Obviously Google has told me the worst. I’m going to speak to the dr tomorrow, but just wondered if anyone else had had any experience of this and it turned out to be fine? No horror stories please, I’m already on edge!

Two of my daughters had this when pregnant. I knew before clicking on this what you were going to describe. Both times it was just hormones. I’m sure it will be the same for you. Please try not to worry. Talk to the dr.

@VJBR thank you posting. Can I ask if they too had intermittent pain and seemingly just one node swollen? I’m annoyed at myself for not getting it checked sooner! I’ve had pain at the top of that arm on and off for a few months, but put that down to picking my toddler up a lot. I just keep thinking this cold has only been around a couple of days but the pain for a lot longer and I’ve no idea how long the lymph node has been swollen as I can’t feel it. I was in such shock when the sonographer told me, (as I fully expected to be told it’s all fine and just growing pains due to pregnancy) I just said asked about the cold and said I didn’t have any other questions, as is always the case I’ve now thought of a million to ask!

It was only one side and was tender. The doctor reassured one of my daughters several times that it wasn't anything but in the end sent her for a scan as she was worried. It was nothing. I am just checking my old messages and they said it was an inflammed lymph node. I don't think it went down until she had the baby. One of my daughters seemed to think it was the hand that she used for her phone and texting. Probably nothing to do with it. I can understand how anxious you must feel. You can get enlarged lymph nodes for all sorts of reasons though.

Not entirely the same but I discovered a lump in my breast which didn't go away so got referred to the breast clinic at 14 weeks.

The consultant assured me that they have ALOT of pregnant ladies going in, because the hormone changes cause all kinds of lumps, bumps, inflammations and swellings!

Thank you both. I stupidly read too much before the scan so when he said about the swelling I straight away thought back to stories I’d read.

Keep looking at my daughter and feel on the verge of tears. I don’t think the pregnancy hormones help either!

Try to keep away from Google. I have learned from experience that it always gives you the worse case scenarios. I am sure your doctor will reassure you.
