has anyone had babies of both genders following very similar pregnancies?

i always hear people say having a boy pregnancy is so easy and a girl is so hard??
but is that really the case?

My girl (DC1) pregnancy was a doddle - neat small bump, thick shiny hair, loads of energy, no back pain or swollen ankles. I was sick until 22 weeks but only once or twice a day and felt fine in between.

My boy (DC2) pregnancy was a nightmare. Full blown hyperemesis, massive bump, awful back pain, I felt hideous throughout.

So for me girl was much easier.

3 boys and 1 girl and just found out im pregnant with number 5… the boys a doddle and never felt pregnant. My girl sucked the life out of me and made me so ill. I actaully weighed less full time than I did at the start of the pregnancy 🤣 she is 14 now and still sucks the life out me the diva haha

I felt ok with my little girl but omg the sickness with my little boy was horrific. I would get motion sickness when WALKING! It was awful! Very very different pregnancies xx

Bigoldmachine · 26/05/2024 22:17

Exactly the same both times - sick as a dog, swollen ankles, the lot.

one girl and one boy.

PaganOfTheGoodTimes · 26/05/2024 22:24

I had two very different pregnancies, one girl, then a boy.
Then the third pregnancy was the same as with my daughter - and it was another boy!

thehistorymum · 26/05/2024 22:24

No sickness, but aches and pains and tiredness resulting in two beautiful little boys!

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 26/05/2024 23:06

2 girls and 2 very straight forward pregnancies, minimal sickness, kept very active etc x

Emmzo · 26/05/2024 23:08

First pregnancy was a doddle (up to 37 weeks, then pre-eclampsia, induction from hell 😣) = boy

Second pregnancy was hell all the way, sickness, GD, 9 months of suffering. But labour was an easy (relative!) 2 hrs from start to finish, arrived the day before induction was booked at 37 weeks = girl.

Genuinely think it’s nothing to do with sex/gender tho!

Cheshireflamingo · 26/05/2024 23:17

Two lovely pregnancies (I genuinely bloomed) - one girl, one boy.

WeightoftheWorld · 26/05/2024 23:18

My pregnancies were very similar except DC2 (boy) was born a lot later and a lot bigger than DC1 (girl).

MalibuBarbieDreamHouse · 26/05/2024 23:21

I have two girls, my pregnancies were polar opposites… was really sick with one, not at all with the other, baby was very high with one, so low on the other. One was easy and one pretty tough! I’m currently pregnant with number #3, I don’t know the gender yet, but pregnancy has been kind on me!

Ceebs85 · 26/05/2024 23:29

One of each, two easy pregnancies. Despite being "morbidly obese" 😏

Hotpinkangel19 · 26/05/2024 23:31

Both of my girl pregnancies were hard. My boy ones weren't as hard

PitterPatter3 · 26/05/2024 23:34

I’ve had two boys and now a girl.

#2 and #3 have been the most similar. 🤷‍♀️

SlashBeef · 26/05/2024 23:48

2 of each and all of the pregnancies were very similar

maw1681 · 27/05/2024 09:40

My first pregnancy I felt terrible for the first 16 weeks then much better, had a girl. Second pregnancy I felt less nauseous but it lasted until 28 weeks so I was convinced I was having a boy, but had a second girl! Couldn't quite believe my eyes when the midwife showed me! Had to get DH to confirm
