Hi. My first post here and looking for some reassurance as I am worried sick!!! I stupidly used cif cream on a warm stove to clean without gloves (but with kitchen rolls) when I just found out I am pregnant. So so stupid!! The smell was strong but windows were open and ventilation was on. It was for a minute or so..have I done harm to my baby??? Worried sick!!!!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I can understand you are newly pregnant & anxious, but I'm not sure what about?
Do you think the smell might harm your baby? It won't, don't worry.

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 22/05/2024 22:45

Don't give it another thought....it won't have done any harm at all....

Oh I craved the smell of Cif cream (along with other lemony cleaning products) when I was pregnant with dc1, the house sparkled. She's a seemingly well adjusted teenager now. She does have an unusual likening for cleaning though just not her bedroom Confused

I cleaned other peoples’ house throughout my pregnancy (well until I could no longer actually reach the bottom of a bath at 8 months). Breathed in far more cleaning product fumes than I’d have liked (obviously not on purpose) but DD is now 9 years old and fine.

Thank you so much for the responses 🙏 I guess I was over reacting because I read somewhere that Cif has got harmful substances (like oven cleaners) and then I inhaled it! I feel much better now. Thanks again x

Think of how many people drink, smoke, eat all sorts etc while not knowing they’re 4 weeks pregnant - you and they will be fine!

boonpop98 · 23/05/2024 00:34

Im 30 weeks pregnant and have been using cif cream to clean regularly.
As long as you're not mixing different products together u shud be ok

Peonies12 · 23/05/2024 06:27

You’ll be inhaling far worse just by stepping out the house each day, with road pollution etc!

Cocoabeans90 · 07/06/2024 16:56

Hi hope everything was ok and baby is well.

I used Cif Perfect Finish Oven & Gril Grease Removal Spray on my hob and oven door. Didn’t use gloves and im 10 weeks pregnant. So nervous.

At 4 weeks baby isn't even linked to your circulation, so no harm done.
