Any mums 40+ with hopes or experience of a VBAC?

Just that, really. I had an ELCS for DD due to breech, but all being well, this time I'm keen to try for a VBAC. My surgeon said it should be fine if I wait 12 months to get pregnant. I realise though that my age may be one factor that complicates things?

Will obviously do what's best for baby & me, but I'm keen to know about VBAC experiences from mums who are over 40. Were you supported in your choice? Were you allowed to go overdue, and/or you have additional monitoring toward the end? Induced early due to age? Etc.

I as nearly 38 when I had my my fifth baby via VBAC2, my age wasn't mentioned as a factor. I had to move hospitals to find a supportive consultant and I wasn't allowed to go overdue. She arrived on her due date a few hours before the consultant appointment. Had first section unnecessarily for big baby and second for twins both in fairly fast labours so I felt confident things would probably be quick and uneventful as they were.

Thanks, @MissSmiley. I'm so glad it went well for you! I think in my trust protocols are different for women over 40. I had my DD at 39 and there was no additional monitoring or anything. I am now 41 (will be almost 42), so I'll be curious to see what changes!
