Morrisons own brand early detection

Has anybody used Morrisons own brand early detection tests? I’ve done a test earlier and unsure about the result… thought it was a clear blue but upon looking I’ve realised it’s a Morrisons own brand… what does everyone think of this? Not getting my hopes up as the line is broken. I’m due on today/tomorrow so would of thought the line would of been darker?

What time of day was this done at? I would try again tomorrow if I was you. Can see a line though!

Hi there,

this is really weird because I have also just done a Morrisons test and it looks like this!

I have cracked it open to get a better look.

It was taken at about 12 this afternoon, I atupidly
did another half an hour later which obviously the urine was too diluted and it was negative. Im
due on today and would
of thought it would be darker

Currently 17 weeks pregnant with DC2. Only tests I did were Morrisons early detection as that's all I could get. First test, day after AF due but mid afternoon looked like yours but outside the test time so thought it might be false. Did another one next morning took a while to come up but within the time, quite faint but there. Final one three days later came up before the control line.

No problem with pregnancy at all, so I wouldn't worry too much about the strength of the line at this point.

Congratulations! Would you say that this does look a line then? I feel like I’m getting line eyes. I did crack the test open and it’s just a faint thin line , definitely not connected. Only think that makes me think it isn’t an evap is that it came up pretty much straight away

My personal experience (ie firsthand from people I know and myself, and many of them me included have TTC for years and taken a lot of tests!), I've never seen/heard of a standard pregnancy tests deliver a second line in the correct place with some colour to it if there wasn't HCG in their system. I can see why you're not 100 per cent sure, but psychologically I would be working on the basis that yes, that's a positive.

There's an interesting link online somewhere about how pregnancy tests works and basically the control line reacts to the presence of urine and changes colour, the test line changes colour as a result of HCG being present. Tests stay wet for hours, so HCG may continue to accumulate as the urine moves down, which is why lines might get darker/show up later etc etc.

Sorry that's long, but basically if there is a second coloured line, even if it's not fully intact (yours looks like it goes from top to bottom on left hand side), I'd say it was likely positive. I

I actually read that article earlier about a man saying only Hcg can change the colour! I took the test apart and it kind of looked like the dye ran a bit so thought it was just that? I also took it apart to see if I could see any better which probably was silly but the not knowing is horrible. I’m getting normal period pain so feel like it’s going to show. Hoping this is a sticky baby

It also came up like straight away which I didn’t think happened, I thought it took a minute or so but literally within ten seconds. I took another half an hour later after drinking a bottle of water and it was negative but I guess that was expected with it being so diluted?

I have had tests where the test line showed before the control line (I was pregnant).

I am sure tomorrow morning will give you a more definite answer.

WickWood · 20/05/2024 19:59

I'm pregnant and used the Morrisons tests early on, mine were negative (must have tried them too early) so I used the 6 day early clear blue, then used the Morrisons ones a bit later, all positive. I can definitely see a clear line there, especially if it came up quickly! Good luck!

ive read a few posts about ladies saying it came up before the control line.. without sounding like an idiot what does that actually mean?

So on a pregnancy test the test line sometimes changes colour/appears before the urine has a chance to reach the control line. That's normally if you're a bit further a long. I didn't know I was pregnant with DC1 until 6 weeks and the test line was extremely clear before the control line showed.

Thank you for explaining! I am due on today/tomorrow so it is still so early if I am. Also didn’t use first mornings wee! Getting my normal period pains though not feeling so hopeful.

I keep looking at the test and it looks like it’s faded now, I did take it apart though which was silly. I’ve ordered some more tests so will test in a few days. Just getting normal period pains down my side so not feeling hopeful!

It will fade, even if it's positive, they do fade, that's why you can't leave it too long before you look! Fingers crossed x

I got a false positive off a Morrisons brand pregnancy test. Line came up within a few minutes and was pink, so it was definitely not an evap or anything like that. I went out and got a few more tests and all those were negative.

How many days past your missed period were you? Sorry that happened. I thought it was really rare to get a false positive

@Pollypol probably around 2 weeks late
