8 Weeks Pregnant and HCG level has risen by 8,000 HELP MW has worried me. :(

Hi,

I am 8 weeks pregnant today and had a blood test 72 hours ago. Level was 160,000. Second level 48 hrs after wqas 168,267. My doctor thinks this is fine BUT the midwife said OOH.. am so worried. Should it still be doubling?? I thought it started to level off and that it was already quite high. EPAU have booked me in for another scan on Monday so am really worried. Anyone know anything about levels???

you seem to be in normal levels Maybe they are concerned about twins...am i right in remembering you took clomid?

Yes I took Clomid BUT had a scan at 6 wk 5 days and it was just one PEA. Well remembered about clomid (thank you). My concern is that they have not risen sufficiently... but like I said are they not meant to start to level out so would they still increase as significantly as they did intially? I hate all this it really is getting me down.

My nausea has subsided, my boobs are still tender but not too bad (haven't been bad all throughout), and i haven't any pain or bleeding...

yes the levels do start to stabilise, they don't double much after 7-8 weeks, which is where you are.

Don't worry too much about your symptoms - i never have any and (touch wood) am at the end of my 3rd healthy pregnancy. Take care, rest, look after yourself until the scan shows all is well.
