Me too. Had it last time and this time too.

You'll need antibios in an IV drip at least 4 hours before delivery.
If your waters break you have to go to hospital straight away.
Protocol is to put IV as soon as you get into hospital.

Don't know if you can go in the tub with that.

I had step b in first pregnancy and was given iv abs. once they had gone through i was free to do what i wanted. I dont thin k it need extend your stay in hospital tho? I had dd in australia tho and wanted to stay in so i could get to grips with breastfeeding. second pregnancy and not being tested as the cahnces are that i still carry the virus so would be given anti biotics as a precuation.

I don't know about water birth.

We were advised to stay in for 48 hours observation after the birth.

I had Group B Strep and was told that we'd need to stay in for 48 hours and to be honest, I was very glad about it as my baby was then a bit poorly and taken into SCBU with signs of infection amongst other things. To be honest, I'm not that confident I would have picked up the signals the doctor did when they were doing four hourly obs. My DD was fine after a course of anti-b's and some scans and didn't have GBS as it turned out but I am bloody glad I was there and made me realise that they do only do it for the health of the baby.

I think if you display any signs of infection during labour (high temp etc) then they will certainly suggest you stay in for 48 hours. However, they can't physically keep you there against your wishes.

Oh and you should be fine to labour in the pool!

I would recommend this site www.gbss.org.uk/ as they are a wealth of information. How many weeks are you?
I found out I was + after dd was born and was anxious during my second pg. I paid for a private test (info on that site) and I was negative at 37 weeks. I didn't have antibiotics and ds was ok (now 6 wks)thankfully. as it turned out i had to have ecs so it wasn't as much of an issue as it could have been but I'm glad I found out.
Knowing your status means you can make an informed decision.
I started a fwe threads before ds was born as I was so concerned- if you do a search you will find lots of info on them that I received, including some on water births.
Good luck!

I think they recommend staying in for at least 48 hours.

I discovered I had this after my DD was born. When DS was born I had to go into hospital as soon as my waters broke to have 4hrs of antib's. Unfortunately (or fortunately!) my labour didn't last 4hrs and I didn't get the full dose of antib's so we had to stay in for 24hrs so he could be observed. I was told last time that I couldn't have a waterbirth because of GBS but my MW has told me this time that she doesn't see any reason not to have one providing the site of the canula is kept dry.
I think it depends on the hospital's policy so best to check with them and at least you'll know and won't be disappointed.
