39 weeks - inducing labour

Hello,

I'm 39 weeks today with my second baby. I've currently done nothing to naturally induce labour other than bounce on my birth ball (when I can be bothered).

With my 1st baby, I was so consumed by the thought that I had to take/do all the usual things (eating dates, raspberry leaf tea, clary sage, sex etc) you name it, to go into labour to end up being medically induced at 41+ 5 days anyway.

I was so disheartened when nothing seemed to work that this time I want to be more relaxed and wait it out I guess.

Just wondered if anyone else did the same and ended up naturally going into labour?

I tried it all with my first too and went a week over due. I truly believe you can try anything at all and until that baby is ready, they aren't coming out.

I think you're taking the best approach this time round and I'll be doing the same. Take it easy, try to stay stress free and when your body is ready you will go into labour!

@BeautyAndTheBump1 Thank you so much for your reply. I'll continue doing what I'm doing and hope for the best! Smile

I'm 39 weeks tomorrow with my 2nd .

With my first I didn't do anything to try induce labour but I did go into Labour with him at 41 weeks and had no indication leading up to it until I woke up with small contractions that got more intense as the day went on.

I was going to try the raspberry leaf tea and dates ect this time but tbh I just can't be bothered as I will just get disheartened.

I do go on my ball everyday but that's mainly
to get baby into prime position as my 1st was always in an awkward one!! Just trying to stay calm this time and expect I'll go to 42 weeks so I'm not disappointed 😂

Fingers crossed they don't keep up waiting to long 🤞🏼

What I've read about raspberry leaf tea and dates, is that they help prepare the cervix so the baby comes out more easily, rather than speeds up when the baby comes.
