Hi :)

just wanted to ask what I need to do for my 12 week scan?
I haven’t seen a midwife yet, but had the initial call.
I’ve no idea what to expect from my appointment tomorrow.. obviously they’re scanning me, do I need to take a urine sample? Will they be taking my blood?

funnily I’ve had 1 other successful pregnancy and for the life of me cannot remember anything lol

I can't remember if they take a urine sample but they definitely take blood after the scan if you have opted for the screening tests.

I remember they definitely weighed me as well because I was horrified how much weight I'd put on in the first trimester 🤣

You need a full bladder before your scan - so drink lots of fluid at least an hour before your scan

If you are wanting the downs/edwards/patau's screening they will do it after your scan and this is by blood test. They will also check weight, height and blood pressure when doing this too

You’ll need a full bladder (although I got told to empty mine as too full). If you are having chromosome screening, they’ll take a blood test and weigh you, that’s it. No urine sample at mine. After mine was done, they booked my 20 week scan in
