Loss of symptoms - to scan or not?

Had a scan last week at 6+1 due to bleeding and was shocked to find all well, heartbeat & measuring 6+3! I have a history of ectopic and recurrent miscarriage. Felt sure it was another ectopic.

A few days after the scan I had a single bout of diarrhoea and following that I seemed to experience a loss of symptoms. Mainly it’s that I don’t feel as pregnant as I did before - boobs not consistently as tender, tummy not as crampy. I had a fairly symptom free successful pregnancy with DD, but it’s been a rocky road so far and I’m anxious with this one. I’m worried that baby has died and I’m having a MMC. Got another scan booked next Thursday at EPU but the not knowing is killing me.

Would you get a private one today in my situation?

yes I would but that’s just me, lots of people would say wait it out- I wouldn’t be able to

It's really up to you if you can wait. My first trimester pregnancy symptoms have changed daily in my current pregnancy, I'm now 20 weeks, but when I lost a pregnancy before, the symptoms did go and stay away.

Sorry to hear about your losses, so difficult.

My symptoms have been mild from the beginning and they fluctuate daily and have had positive scans, so I'd only worry if you were cramping or bleeding etc.

Ive had recurrent miscarriages too and have had a few reassurance scans already in first trimester.

Thanks everyone. I didn't get one in the end, mainly for practical reasons - DP having surgery this weekend, and we've got a 22 month DD, so it's honestly better for us to be in limbo than devastated - I don't know how we'd cope with the bad news. I'm still v. worried but trying to stay busy and wait for the EPU scan. I'd be holding out hope for their second opinion anyway tbh.

Boobs only really tender if DD grabs them, or at night, weirdly. Maybe it's wearing a bra all day? Can't say I've had any round ligament pain at all, but I wonder if that's because my body has been heavily pregnant before, not that long ago? I'm hungry, but I always am when stressed, and tired, but then I've got a very active toddler. No way to know without the scan, so I'm going to do my best to stop torturing myself until then.

I lost symptoms at around the same time and felt generally normal however now 14 weeks and baby fine ☺️
as someone who also has anxiety in pregnancy it would probably make you feel better today but it would just creep back in soon! Xx

Symptoms do fluctuate pous only being 6 weeks if dates are wrong they may not see much on the scan which could cause extra anxiety
