8 Weeks to go...

I am 32 weeks now and starting to get nervy about the whole birth thing. I'd been alright up until 2 letters arrived yesterday, one recalling me for 28 weeks blood tests as apparently my white cell count is slightly raised, and another from the consultant, giving me an appointment when I am 34 weeks. I am concerned about this appt, because to date, everything has been pretty ok. I'm sure there is something they are not telling me but I can't for the life of me think what it could be. Anyone else have experience of this? I though the appt would be connected to the blood test, but apparently not. Just don't know what to think.

Can you ring your midwife and get her to ring the hospital and find out for you? No point in you worrying for the next 2 weeks? Have you seen your consultant before? Sometimes they just follow up after seeing you earlier in the pregnancy.

My midwife rang the hospital a few times for me to find out different things. I think they would have told you if there was something wrong?

Where I live you get a check up as standard at 34 weeks then and 36 and again at 38. Could it just be that?

I was told to go to ante natal appt with my GP next week as standard, and then every 2 weeks after that but with the GP, so I can't understand why I've been called in. There have been no other problems really so its just a tad confusing.

I think it's pretty routine.

My consultant sees me every fortnight, but at 34weeks, I have a growth scan and then I'll see him every week....

I think it's just that 'things' can start happening after 34 weeks...

I really don't think they'd give you a routine appt. if there was something to worry about......

By the way, I'm 32 weeks gone too and feeling BIG now!! I did have some major wobbles about the whole birth thing but they seem to have got a bit better now I have a birth plan worked out (oh, and I know where i'm going to be living!!)

I think it's important to have as many details sorted (I know it can all change, but even little things can make you feel so much calmer!! - well it works for me!
