im negative blood baby is positive, therefore ive had 28 week app antid injection and I had one 2 weeks ago as I slightly bumped myself on the side of a door, I didn't know if I needed it for that so.i rang maternity they did bloods im pretty sure they said my bloods were fine but they gave me an injection as a precaution

but just now I was rolling a lemon on the side to soften it, the surface was wet, I was pushing down quite hard on the lemon and it swung off the side hitting my stomach before going on the floor

I would feel pretty stupid ringing triage and explaining this, I do have an appointment with a consultant later should I ask her ?
I feel like im always bumping myself, I cried as soon as I did it as I just feel like they'll make me have the injection again and its painful but does this kinda thing warrant one

I shouldn't think you'd need anti d for that. It's more for falls and hard knocks.

when I went last time about knocking on the side of the door it wasnt hard, but it did leave a mark this didnt leave any mark so Im sure was less hard than that other time just so unsure on these things
as I tend to do it replay it back on my head again and again thinking was that hard
I hate my brain

If you only had 1 two weeks ago then you would probably be covered by that one still anyway.

redddssak · 13/05/2024 13:36

I found this ask a midwife online live chat on lanoish and she said that wouldn't need anti d as its not a huge bump, or trauma and she said since I only got anti d 2 weeks ago it would still do its job
so not worrying anymore now just hate my brain

when I try rationalise with myself I think of anti.d mums who have toddlers im sure theyre not gentle they'd be getting anti d all the time!

Just a handhold as I have the same issue and I know how nerve-racking it is. I agree that it wasn't a big bump and you are probably covered by your last shot, so I hope the midwife set your mind at ease. But don't beat yourself up for worrying! It is an extra complication in an already anxious time, and you are just trying to do the best for you and baby.
Hugs.

I bump my stomach all the time, but my midwife said it’s for ‘trauma’ like car accident level or at the very least falling over onto your stomach. Otherwise surely any mums with toddlers would be in there everyday. I don’t think you need to worry unless it hit you so hard that you were in a lot of pain / winded. maybe it would be worth speaking to them about your (totally normal in pregnancy !) anxiety though, it can’t be nice to be so stressed and you deserve to enjoy your pregnancy

I had the anti-D after first birth. It didn't work and I had no knocks or falls but my second was born ill. She is absolutely fine now, a healthy and happy adult. Point of post is the worse case scenario often works out fine.

right! im always questioning every bump/ knock its very stressful, thanks guys always good to feel less alone in things

Surprised they gave you anti-D for the first bump. i was always bashing my stomach into things (im negative, baby positive). You’ve got to be involved in a pretty nasty accident to cause mixing of blood, the kind of thing where you’d go in anyway to check on baby. I really wouldn’t worry about it, but of course if you are still worried just call them up
