ok so im pregnant with twins (18weeks) have been admitted to the hospital once due to bleeding at 14weeks, woke up saturday to a brown discharge on lots of pain at the very bottom of my stomach. went to hospital monday for tests to check for infection due to the discharge turning to a funny greeny colour. im still experiencing the pain wich comes every so often and lasts for a couple of minutes there very painful and disturbing my sleep. doc says its probably due to my womb growing. as anybody else experianced these pains and is it normal for them to be so painful?

I'm sure that when you're carrying twins-all those normal pregnancy 'twinges' must be exaggerated? I've no idea how much pain would be classed as problematic but if it's any consolation I was in a similar situation yesterday. I was told to go to hospital after getting a very slight pinkish discharge folowed by some brown staining. I also felt mild abdominal discomfort. Everything is fine with baby and the midwife did stress that the 'pains' were normal growing/stretching signs or Braxton Hicks and not to worry-I;m TRYING not to!! I had also experienced some brown staining at 15 weeks (again-all was fine). Don't be afraid to keep checking with your medics if in doubt. I expect you'll be monitored even more closely with twins? Good luck.Oooh-forgot to say, I'm 24 weeks!

I'm exactly the same with this one (my 2nd pregnancy too). The first one was a breeze with no complications, brown staining/twinges etc and I too have to think myself out of blind panics every day with this preg. The midwife yesterday did tell me not to worry about contacting them even with the slightest worry and that even if I 'became part of the furniture' at the labour ward they would rather I got checked out than for me worry about burdening them!! I'm not suggesting I'll pop in for tea and biscuits every day but her words were very comforting! So remember that it's their job to help you!
