Shouldn’t the date on my MATB1 form be my actual due date, not C-section date?

I received my MATB1 form this week and I’m worried that it’s been filled out incorrectly.

I thought the date on there had to be my actual due date, which is Tues Sept 10th. However, my midwife has put Sept 3rd on there as that is potentially the date I’ll have my C-section (actual date won’t be confirmed for a while).

Am I right in thinking it should be the 10th Sept on the form?

Yes it should definitely be your due date. It may make a difference to SMP depending on whether you receive variable pay.

Should definitely be your due date.

Crumbs okay thank you. I’ve messaged my midwife so hopefully she’ll get back to me next week. Everything I’ve read online says it should be the due date. But just worried in case she doesn’t see what I’m getting at. I’m not allowed to just change it, am I?

Should be due date. C section date might not actually happen in the end 🙄. Ours didn’t. Thanks to no neonatal beds in the whole county

That’s what I’m thinking. In fact, after the form was completed we then talked about how the 3rd is actually unlikely and it’ll be a few days later!

Equally, in theory I could be someone who already knows I wouldn’t be allowed to go past 36 weeks, would they have put that on the form?! It would mean maternity pay calculation would be out by a month!

The date should indeed be my actual due date and my midwife said it was fine for me to correct the form! All ok 😊
