Scan at 8+3, measuring 6.

Hello all,

I had a scan today at what was supposed to be 8+3, however I ended up being 6+0, 4.9mm with a heartbeat. I was immediately disheartened but the sonographer (private) said I shouldn’t be worried as there was a fetus, yolk sac and heartbeat. I had a MMC earlier this year so I’m absolutely petrified. My cycles are regular - I think they are anyway.

any advice or positive stories would be greatly appreciated x

Hi try not to worry, I had a MMC too with my first at 14 weeks.

I’ve had two children since, one measured small the whole way through with fluid on his brain (was born totally fine and all okay) … the other measured fine in the early scans then much larger.

If the heartbeat and sac looked okay try to stay positive.

Thank you so much. I suppose there’s never really a good indication of anything and you just have to take a deep breath and let everything happen as it will xx

Maybe I should add, I got my first positive on 17th April - I wasn’t trying so didn’t test early. I’m not sure how much or a difference this makes x
