Anyone know a big pram place in Sussex/Surrey/London?

We live near Chichester, and I really want to go and try some prams out this weekend (early at only 18 weeks, but DP's mum is itching to go shopping and buy it for us, and who am I to complain?). Don't mind travelling a bit, but really want somewhere with a good range, particularly of 3 wheelers, as I do loads of beach/field walking.

Thanks!

Or if there's anywhere round Bluewater or Portsmouth/Southampton/Bournemouth way...?

Bluewater has a decent sized Mothercare but nothing else in terms of prams. We did our search at the Baby Show which was great.

I'd recommend looking at kiddicare.com which is great value, narrowing down to what you might like, then going to look.

We have ordered the Quinny 3-wheeler system, due to be delivered today, woo hoo!

Good luck.

Try Tiny Tinkers in Haywards Heath - give them a call and see how many types they have. As I recall, it was absolutely loads.
There is also John Lewis at Lakeside which is good.Have fun!

Bluewater - JL and Mothercare

We went to Ann's Prams in Petersfield and found they were very good. They're completely independent so only stock products that they've found to be good from companies with good customer support. They know their stock very well.

They're also very up to speed on car seat safety and won't sell a car seat unless they've had specific training on it from the manufacturer and have checked it fits your car.

If you decide what you want early on they'll also hold your order for you till near your due date and, if the worst should happen, there's no problems about getting a full refund. Not saying other stores won't do this, but it's worth checking as not everyone does.

Happy shopping

Katepol- I think i heard someone say Tiny Tinkers has closed now.

Theres Baby Boom in dorking but not been inside so not sure on thier stock range. We tryed to go one day but it was closed for a stock take- typical.

We found Mothercare World in the leisure park in Croydon had a big range.

Re Tiny Tinkers - what a shame! We bought loads from there - very helpful and knowledgeable staff.

hopefully - aside from John Lewis, have looked for any Mothercare World's near you - they tend to have quite a selection.

You could also phone Great Expectations in Brighton - they are a small-ish shop but might have what you need and tend to have the latest stuff.

I bought my pram from Tiny Tinkers, and although I ordered it when I was 23 weeks, it didn't turn up until DS was 10 weeks old - service was terrible.

Frills all Round in Uckfield had a great selection.

katepol · 04/04/2008 21:03

Oh, also there is a shop in Uckfield - Frills All Round is the (naff)name. They advertise a lot as ahving a big selection of nursery goods...

Babyboom in Dorking is no more I fear unless they have relocated. The one in HH has mixed experience of customer service iirc. What about JL in Southampton, possibly nearer than Bluewater ?

bigcar · 05/04/2008 20:52

If you want to go to the mothercare world on Purley Way, Croydon, there is a big toys r us almost opposite and a bit further down Purley Way on the Lombard roundabout there is an independant shop called babynest that has stuff the others may not.

Hi there , there is a great store called Lilliput nursery superstore, they are based on Queenstown Road in Battersea (free car park). they have a huge selection of pushchairs on display, from lower cost ranges to top of the range , the staff are great and give you demo's on the prams ect... they also do other stuff that you just wouldn't see in mothercare, adams or other high street stores, their website is www.lilliputdirect.co.uk. def worth a look !!
