Worried shooting pain could be due to incompetent cervix

I am 14 weeks pregnant and for weeks now I’ve had a very mild shooting pain on and off in both my vagina and rectum (sorry to be crude!)

I know lightning crotch can be normal but it seems too early for that, especially as I’ve had it since probably week 10. It also sounds way milder than lightning crotch.

I had two cervical biopsies for abnormal cells at the start of the year (one 4mm and one 10mm) and now I’m really worried the pain is due to incompetent cervix.

Has anyone has this pain? I mentioned the biopsies to my midwife but I have not been booked in for any cervical scans or extra checks. Really hoping this is normal 😩

Hi OP, I've also had biopsies and understand your worries, do you know if you had punch biopsies or cone biopsies?

You might be able to find a private scan service that would check cervical length if you are really worried and that would put your mind at ease?9

@SouthwestSis i had two punch biopsies. From what I’ve read, these shouldn’t be a concern but the 10mm they took the first time seems like a lot for a biopsy!

If you don’t mind me asking, have you been pregnant since your biopsies? What type did you have?

Another thought (still worrying)… could it be a UTI? I had trace of blood in my urine at my first midwife appointment but she said she would call if the culture came back with infection and I never got a call.

Now worrying I’ve had a UTI for weeks!!
