Can I wear my Spanx ? - 8 weeks pregnant

Hi everyone

I'm 8 weeks pregnant but suffering terrible bloating since 5 weeks, my stomach is enormous already. I'm going to the Grand National tomorrow and my dress now looks terrible on me, I'm a stone overweight anyway so would normally just wear my spanx to control my thighs and lumps under the dress. Does anyone know if it would still be ok to do this tomorrow or might it cause any problem to the baby ? Sorry if it sounds silly but I just look so bad in my favourite dress now and I was so looking forward to the day !

they won't hurt the baby but they could well be hideously uncomfortable by the end of the day
take spare pants in case

I did wear spanx at 6 weeks under a pencil skirt. No problems but I was very glad to get out of it after dinner. It's not comfy.

I'd just show off my bump proudly personally. Wouldn't wear the spanx.

You'll be fine wearing them - baby still too low to be squished! But I agree with taking spare pants - once everyone's had a few drinks they won't notice if you wobble a bit more than you did first thing in the morning!

Thanks guys, I'll try them for an hour tonight to get the edge on the discomfort factor then. that's sure to make the decision for me i bet.
