Maternity leave?

I'm wondering if someone could help me I'm going on maternity leave on 24th of June and work have put my return date as 3rd February is this right? I'm sure 39 weeks smp is 273 days and if I've calculated right it looks like they've put me as only 218 days? Am I calculating this right or have they missed a chunk of what I'm entitled to?

Just counting on a calendar, it looks like 39 weeks would take you until 23rd April. In that time you would also accrue 6 bank holidays (august bank holiday, 2x Christmas, new year, 2x Easter) plus any other annual leave you would have accrued in that time. Work don’t have to declare your return to work date, you declare your return to work date.

Use this to calculate the number of days. It's 225. Have you told them you are taking 9 or 12 months leave? www.timeanddate.com/date/durationresult.html?d1=24&m1=06&y1=2024&d2=03&m2=02&y2=2025&ti=on

Are you talking about maternity pay rather than maternity leave? You are entitled to take 1 year maternity leave but only 39 weeks would be paid. You don't need to tell them your return date yet and they should assume you are taking the full year. You need to give 8 weeks notice if you want to return earlier than this.

I only want to take the paid 39 weeks so do you think they've just put me down as Feb for now until I confirm? I just know Feb isn't when 39 weeks would end I'm sure and I wanted to double check before going back to them xx

By my calculations 39 weeks takes you up to March 24th 2025 so I'd query their return date
