Sharp pain lower stomach/groin - 14 weeks pregnant

Hi everyone,

This is my first pregnancy (currently 14 weeks) and since yesterday I’ve been feeling short sharp pains in my very lower abdomen/ groin area. They’re every few minutes or so. They’re not excruciating but noticeable.

Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve tried to contact the hospital for some advice but haven’t been able to get through to anyone.

I’m more worried because I’m going on holiday tomorrow.

Would really appreciate any advice/experience, thanks

Was going to start a very similar thread myself. I’m 14 weeks today and have an on/off sharp pain in my pubic bone area, sometimes it radiates down to what feels like in my vagina and can even be my bum! Everything I’ve read says it’s normal where the baby is pressing on nerves but I am worried it’s a bad sign! Hope we get some answers x

I’m 12w pregnant and have had some similar pains over the last few days but not frequently like you describe. Mine are every now and again. They remind me of the ligament and pelvic pain I had towards the end of my last pregnancy. I have assumed it is just my uterus stretching and everything else accommodating the changes going on. If I was having these sharp pains every few minutes, I would definitely follow up with midwives. Do you have a labour line type number you can call for advice?

Thanks so much for responding.

I’ve called the midwife triage line but they don’t deal with anyone until they’re 17 weeks at least.

it’s kind of moved to a dull ache now. My friend coincidentally had a midwife appointment today (she’s much further along) so spoke to her, and she said as long as there’s no bleeding it should be fine. So hopefully that’s the same for you @llihl13

I’ll keep an eye on it. It’s not ideal because I’m going away tomorrow but they advised to
take all pregnancy notes with me so hopefully everything will be fine.

It’s just difficult isn’t it, when you don’t have anything to compare it to.

I have something similar to this and I think it's just ligaments stretching.

Everything was completely fine and it just went away after a couple of weeks so try not to worry. My baby is now 11 weeks old x
