Hello,
I'm 32 weeks on Tuesday, my bump feels extra tight today (I recently had a growth scan as baby is measuring on 97th percentile and they said it is quite low down already) so don't know if I'm just imagining the tightness 😵‍💫
Anyway in the last half hour I have quite bad pain in my back feels like period type pain, I don't have any contraction type feeling though, am I just panicking for no reason? Confused

I'd call MAU

Call triage, i never had any normal contractions- only horrendous back pain

It could be a sign of labour.
Get your hospital bag ready, be ready to go to hospital if your waters break.

I didn't realise the back ache I had on a Friday, was my warning for when my waters broke the next morning and baby was born at 34 weeks the same afternoon.
All was well btw a little bit jaundiced, 5lb 5oz.

Not trying to alarm you !

This happened to me on Thursday (32+6) and on Friday (33 weeks).

Called and went in the hospital, the baby heartbeat and movement were fine. They also checked my cervix just in case it was open (it isn't).

I think you should call just in case. They couldn't tell me what caused the period like pain but it went away yesterday.
It always good to check out these kind of pains.

@Sarahjsxx

How are you today ? How did you get on if you phoned or went for medical advice ?

Sarahjsxx · 07/05/2024 10:55

Thank you for the replies! I didn't call in, it turns out I've got an awful cold and body aches and I think the body aches started in my back Envy thankfully it felt better
