I thought id treat myself to some chicken selects from mcdonads
ate 2 and thought they were a bit rubbery, the batter was all falling off and I took my flash and I saw some what to me looked pink ish but the texture when pulling apart with my fingers was of cooked chicken like stringy. are the selects pre cooked frozen ? can anyone calm my nerves

do we think its just poor quality chicken? or should I panic?
im 34 weeks, should I ask for a toxo test at my next app??

The chances are you are fine. If you had food poisoning you would absolutely know about it by now, it manifests within a few hours of consumption. Cooked chicken can sometimes appear to be a little pink, it depends of which part of the chicken is used. Stringy doesn't mean raw, if anything it will have been overcooked in this state and rubbery. It will also be very low quality chicken which makes a huge difference to the texture and appearance.

it just seemed pink to me on. the inside, I sent a picture to my partner he didnt seem to think it looked pink but to me it does :( should I still ask for a toxoplasmosis test or only if unwell? not sure how it works

if memory serves correct this happened before to me exactly same thing about 9 months ago just before I found out I was pregnant butt. I didnt care and ate them anyway I only care now as im pregnant I was completely fine

is it only dangerous if I become unwell? or should I still mention this to my midwife next week?

I had undercooked chicken years ago from KFC - I was incredibly poorly for about a week afterwards- but you’d know by now if it’s made you ill. I will say I’ve had cooked chicken which has had an awful texture before - rubbery and really chewy - and just not eaten it after the first mouthful and ive been fine.

if you’re worried then mention it - there’s absolutely no harm in bringing it up in conversation

You'd know about it by now if there was something wrong.

Hopefully you're fine and dandy x
