Hi everyone I am currently 4 weeks pregnant I am on annual leave this week so by the time I go back to work will be 5 weeks going into 6. My pregnancy will be under consultant care with an early scan at 6 weeks hoping to start blood thinners after viable pregnancy is confirmed I never had an early loss with my daughter but complications meaning she was born 6 weeks early so I think I will have alot of appointments etc this time.

I work in an office with a work shop down stairs and am exposed to alot of chemicals wouldnt be able to go into certain rooms but even in the office we use a strong chemical to remove Sharpie writing etc so it's all around a I use it. Last pregnancy I didn't even get a risk assesment so bit worried esp when being high risk

My husband thinks I should tell my boss straight away when I go back what do you guys think? I was also furloughed/working from home most of the first trimester with my daughter and was very nausea sick so not sure how will hide it this time 🙊 I work 3 long days

Thanks x

If you’re going to need a risk assessment, I would tell straight away on a need to know basis. I had to tell my boss very early as I had some bleeding and needed time off for appointments. I’ve now ended up signed off sick due to nausea (nearly 12 weeks) so a lot of people most likely know by now!

Tell your line manager straight away so they can risk assess and you can attend appointments. Tell everyone else when you're ready.

Thanks ladies I will ask her for a catch up when am back we have an HR consultant that comes in regularly so I will ask for him to be there aswell so we can start a risk assessment as nothing was done properly last time! Xx
