today I woke up with sharp rib pain I guess but under my right boob, it only hurts when moving a certain way, and not extremely painful but shaarp

I did cry really badly yesterday a lot and like a very hard cry and I think that might of triggered it with the hyperventilating

but I was googling right rib pain in prep and said pc also I had ketones ++ in my urine 4 days ago at an app also had bp taken was normal is ketones in urine a sign if pc??

im planning on phoning triage tomorrow if the pain hasn't gone as im still sure its from crying hard/ sleeping funny

anyone else had this and was normal?

I'd definitely speak to triage to be safe. But I had rib pain like that from around 34 weeks until baby was born. I think for me it was just part of baby taking up more room and my ribs having to shift a bit to accommodate that. Hopefully it will be something equally benign for you.

I too had horrible rib pain on the right side with my second for what felt like the entirety of the third trimester. I also had pre-eclampsia, but the two were unrelated. What was causing the rib pain however was my baby having his feet right up in there and kicking merry hell out of my lower ribs. Probably bruised some of the muscles between the ribs too. Once baby was out of there, it felt better pretty quickly.

Ketones, as far as I'm aware, are more of a diabetes thing than pre-eclampsia. Protein is what they'd be worried about with pre-eclampsia. But don't take my word for it. Seek advice from triage.

I am 33 weeks and have right sided rib pain. Really, really sharp and burning sometimes- takes my breath away. I was worried about Pre eclampsia too especially after a random high BP reading but no other symptoms and like you the pain is worse in certain positions or if I am still for too long..please do get checked if you are worried but I think it's a fairly common symptom. A bath helps as does regular stretching/movement.
