Pre eclampsia no 2

Hi, I had my first DC in 2019, had polyhydramnios and pre eclampsia and was induced and had them at 37 weeks. I am currently 4 weeks pregnant and wondering if people who had pre eclampsia in their 1st pregnancy had it in again in their 2nd? Also, do they class you as higher risk if you had it the 1st time?

Thanks all for any advice!

Yes, you'll be classed as a high risk pregnancy.

It's a weird one though. As other than monitoring and advising you to take aspirin, there's nothing they can really do unless you develop pre-eclampsia again. I had the same appointment schedule as a FTM so there were more opportunities to take my blood pressure. I also invested in a home blood pressure machine. There was also an appointment with a consultant, who told me she estimated I had ~16% (1 in 6) chance of developing pre-eclampsia a second time, reminded me of symptoms and discharged me back to midwifery led care.

As it happens, I did go on to get pre-eclampsia a second time (I "won" that dice roll 🙄). While it was mild in my first, it was even milder in my second. I was induced (again) at 37 weeks, and had baby at 37+6. In fact he's refusing to go to sleep and shouting "Mummy" at the top of his voice....
