Has anyone tested negative but ended up pregnant?

Hi! I’m currently 4 days late for my period. I have never been this late before, occasionally 1 or 2 days but I haven’t had any of my normal cramping or breast tenderness as I usually do. Every month is like clock work for me and I know when I’m about to get my period but this month it’s different. I had unprotected sex on my peak ovulation, twice but did take a plan b. Admittedly, I did afterwards read that plan B isn’t effective if you are already ovulating which I didn’t know! I have taken a couple of pregnancy tests but they’ve been negative so I’m wondering if anyone on here has had any experiences where they’ve had consistent negatives but then turned out pregnant? Please do share your experiences below as I’m now stressing at the moment which I know doesn’t help. I will also add that I haven’t had any lifestyle changes either… Thanks.

I only had one negative test but I was in fact pregnant and I took the (negative) test at the point at which I was about 4+5 I think. So I think it can happen. I'd give it another week then try again.

Thank you!! I guess it’s just a matter of waiting which is the worst in this situ - but will take your advice. Thank you x

If you took the morning after pill before you ovulated (I know you suspect that you might not have, but if you did) then this is exactly what you'd expect to happen so it would be the reason for you to be late.

But as pp said, wait a week and test again to know for sure.

Just to say you were right! Shortly after this post, I got my period. Albeit not a normal one - I don’t really ever take the pill so hadn’t appreciated that it may had affected my cycle. Thanks so much!

I did mine only showed at 10 days when I was going in for surgery and the hospital did a test.

I took a test with my youngest in the morning with a standard clear blue was negative. I was late aswell and just had a feeling so went and got the clear blue early detection in the afternoon was positive. Maybe it’s to early for you with a normal test?
