28 Week Blood Tests Reveal Slightly Raised White Blood Cells - Any Ideas?

Received a letter from the ANC today saying that my white cell count in slightly raised and I have to go back and have the tests done again. I'm really worried now about what it could be. Any ideas what the problem is or what this could suggest?

Raised white blood cells usually indicate infection. If its only slightly raised I wouldn't worry, you're possibly carrying a little bug & may not even feel ill at all. But do get them repeated. My 1st blood tests indicated low Hg levels. Unforunatley they were lost by the hosp for 6 wks and by the time they found them I'd had a 2nd lot done with the Downs test & they were fine. If they hadn't have found the 1st lot, I'd never have known. Now 31 wks and still waiting to TAKE 28 wk bloods, MW having failed last 2 attempts. Trying again tomorrow. Bit of a ramble I know, but really try not to worry. I think what I'm trying to say is that all these tests make us a bit overcautious. The results may not indicate anything wrong, just something to keep an eye on. Good Luck
