HI

I'm due end of September and have been offered NCT Classes starting end of May until Mid July. Is this too soon, or should i ask for classes starting later?

Not sure what to do?

Thanks

I don't think its too soon, especially if its something you really want to do. Can't imagine you'd forget any of the important info they give you (despite this annoying pregnancy amnesia)! You might find it helps pass the time - sometimes I feel like I've been pregnant forever. Also, without sending any bad vibes, babies seem to turn up when they feel like it, so none of us can rule out an early appearance. Be a boy scout & BE PREPARED.

Go. When the classes finish you can carry on meeting up with the group and compare notes until you actually all start popping. Then you will have a good bond for the postnatal meet ups. The NCT classes get booked up very early, I'd take the offer.

the only downside to going so early is that you are likely to be in a group with a lot of people due much earlier than you. You might find they are mostly due Aug/Sept and may not be at a similar stage to you for the first few months.

I was due early May and my NCT classes finished mid April, and I was about in the middle in terms of dates. It was really nice all of us popping around the same time and our babies being at similar stages of development etc.

So if a later class is available it might be worth booking a month later if you can confirm that you'll get a place, but if it's up in the air I'd take what you're offered.

I'd ask for later classes, or at least ask when the due dates of the others are - if they are all due in early-mid August you will feel a bit left out if they've all had their babies before you are even on maternity leave. It's better to do it fairly close else you really will have forgotten it all.

Many classes don't run in August, so its probably the best dates. I was due late June and went late April/ early May. DS actually turned up 2 weeks after the classes finished, so was actually quite good timing.
