Post Pill PCOS !?

My first time posting on here but need to reach out for some advice. I'd been on the pill for 14/15 years and came off in January 2023 (just turned 31yo). I had a withdrawal bleed straight away and then nothing. Got in touch with the doctor and they did ultra sounds in June, took lots of blood tests and all came back fine. They referred me to the fertility clinic.

July 2023, my first period came, followed by September 2023, then nothing. I had my fertility clinic appointment in December 2023 where the doctor told me I had the black dots on my ovaries implying I had polysyctic ovaries. This implied I had PCOS as I also had the very irregular periods. They suggested using provera and letrozole to get pregnant.

My next period was January 2024, followed by 13th April 2024. I went back to the hospital last Wednesday (24th April) where they completed an internal ultra sound - again seeing the PCOS symptoms on my ovaries. I was prescribed with provera and letrozole and told to wait 42 days from 13th April to begin taking.

Today, (30th April), I was at work and started a very heavy period out of the blue. This is only 17 days after my previous one and I'm really disappointed as now I'm worried the hospital will tell me I need to wait another 42 days from today to start the tablets.

My periods in July and September last year were very heavy - 7 days in September and July was the first time I've ever bled through a tampon onto my clothes - made me feel like a teenager having a first period! The two this year have been very light - only bleeding for 3 days and not much blood. The one that started today is again very heavy.

Can anyone shine any light on this... my questions and thoughts...

Have I got PCOS or is my body still regulating after being on the pill for so long!? (It's worth noting, I used to take my pills packs through - so 3/4 packs before having a break).

Has anyone experienced similar - I'm worried the scan didn't show polysistic ovaries back in June 2023 but then did in December!?

And now when can I start taking my tablets?

Is this common for PCOS to have periods 4 months apart and then suddenly 2 weeks apart?!

The fertility clinic at the hospital are phoning me back tomorrow but I'm just reaching out for some help and answers as I'm all over the place.

Thank you for reading.
