Foley Balloon induction

Had the balloon in at around 10am this morning, cramping pretty much straight away, nothing too horrendous so not had to have any paracetamol yet.

I started timing ‘contractions(?)’ on an app and they are around 5 mins apart and last around 50 seconds.

What I don’t understand is those timings, based of google research etc says I should be heading to the hospital. However, as i mentioned they are not painful enough to reach for the paracetamol yet (although close) and surely if I was that established/dilated the balloon would of fallen out as she said then putting it in that I wouldn’t be able to have it if i was 2cm but after examination I was 1cm so she went ahead.

This is my first pregnancy so apologies if this all sounds silly. Not really sure what i’m asking to be honest.

Hi OP,

not the same situation as you but i kind of ignored my contractions and thought they were just stomach cramps as I suffer with IBS. Anyway my waters went and I ignored that too because the hospital told me it wasn’t enough fluid to be my waters…turned out it was and I then had an emergency delivery due to being over 24 hours and risk of infection. If I was you if they are 5 mins apart I would head to hospital x
