See your MW tomorrow if possible. Avoid all salt for time being.

Other signs are abdo pain, headaches, bad vision-if you have those too-or are just worried, would make an appointment tommorrow. It's always good to get reassurance if needed.

missjennipenni · 01/04/2008 21:46

My ankles have done the same, i also have high BP and protein in my wee, but no-one seems concerned. Get checked out anyway though, always much better to be safe than sorry!

Missjennipenni, you should insist on being seen immediately - you have all the signs of preeclampsia and that is very serious....I can't believe nobody is concerned! Get seen to asap!!!!

NatalieJane · 02/04/2008 07:31

Miss Jenni, I was the same except every where was swollen beyond belief, I went in to be montored on the Monday, wee was protien plus, BP was up slightly, everything looked fine on the monitor so they sent me home, on the wednesday I had my normal AN check up, walked (or waddled) in, my fantastic midwife took one look at the size of me and declared I was going to hospital (meaning with DH in the car after the appointment for more monitoring), she took my blood pressure and it was so high she called an ambulance and I was blue lighted in for an emergency c/s, got to hospital and my BP had come down, so they induced me instead.

You need to go back and tell them you are not happy, see a different midwife if you have to.

7Months, you do need to go and get it checked out ASAP, for all of the same reasons.

Are you weeing OK? I found I literally couldn't wee, even though I was bursting, when I got to the hospital they had to catheterise me, as I just could not go.

Hope it is all OK

TBH I wouldn't be happy with that, but that is with my history!

Watch out for any signs of what has been mentioned, or if the swelling spreads, or suddenly gets worse, and get to the MW/GP'S/labour ward/A&E if needs be, at first sign if it happens.

Hope it goes well

same here- swelling at 39 weeks...BP fine also. Pretty sure you'll be fine but definately get your BP/urine checked frequently just in case...it is normal though for extremeties in late pregnancy so don't panic. x
