Maternity Bra Help

Hi,

When is the best time to buy maternity bras? Also how do you decide what will be the best fit for you? Assuming that books will continue to grow slightly before shrinking during BF. I've never had a fitting my specific size and have always worn M/L sports bras but these are obviously starting to get quite tight and I want something that will last throughout but also offer support so I'm not just wasting money.

Sorry if this sounds ridiculous, I feel completely clueless.

I bought a couple of nursing bras quite late on, maybe 36 weeks? Overall I would avoid buying too many at any one point as your size can change so much. The ones I bought were okay but my band size went down soon after pregnancy. I also had a few weeks of needing a bigger cup size than expected while breastfeeding was getting established and now it’s all seemed to have calmed down and I have bought a smaller size again. Can recommend M&S flexifit nursing bras both before and after giving birth

The best time is really up to you. My first pregnancy I waited until 37 weeks before I needed mat bras. Second pregnancy I literally HAD to switch at about 7 or 8 weeks

If your bras are feeling tight you need bigger ones now, but you might need bigger again further along or when you're BF. I would recommend getting a comfy stretchy bralette type for now that will stretch a bit with you and not be constricting. I had to buy a couple of different sizes during pregnancy and then smaller again for BF after the first few weeks so I would recommend a flexible size type - I had these
