Slow rising beta

Hello,

im currently 5 weeks following a FET, my clinic suggested doing a blood test following some light spotting (this has happened throughout the 2ww and continues now, every other day in the morning). The initial result was 3,000, 48 hours later it was 4,711 so not double.
They suggested a scan at 5 weeks which shows a sac but not yolk yet. However they have advised that this could be normal due to it being so early.

Has anyone else had similar experiences of slow rising Beta results? I’m trying to prepare for the worst so all experiences good and bad are welcome.

Thanks in advance.

I read up somewhere that between 1200 and 6000 hcg level, it can take around 72 hours to double which is normal.

My levels were quick initially but have slowed to 72 hour doubling time and seen a little bub with heartbeat this week, so hopefully yours is the same x

Thank you for your response and congratulations!

I have read such varied information, my clinic has said their standard is 100% in 48 hours so they have asked that I prepare myself for a negative outcome. The wait feels impossible.

I'm so sorry you've got this worry.

It can definitely take 48 - 72 hours for hCG to double.

I hope you get good news soon. It sounds like things are going well so far.

Hi, I have a similar issue but much slower rising. I had a 5 day fresh transfer on 8th April so I'm 5 weeks. My HCG testing was:
Mon 15th: 58
Wed 17th: 71
Fri 19th: 81
Weds 24th: 526

I'm in a limbo of a waiting game now, it's very very unlikely this pregnancy is viable but I have to go for a scan next Weds to find out what is happening and what the choices will be.

Sorry you're also going through a similar issue. I was maybe being naive but I didn't anticipate all this waiting. I thought a simple BFN was going to be it as we only had low quality embryos (nothing to freeze) 💔

It's so hard. And I keep thinking if this was a natural pregnancy how happy I would be, I would never know there was anything wrong without the betas.

I think your numbers sound much better than mine. In any case you're not alone x
