So after quite some time of trying, we finally got pregnant earlier this year but miscarried at exactly five weeks in February. We tried again the next cycle and fell pregnant again and I was so relieved at the weekend to get past the five week point this time.
On Tuesday (5 weeks, 3 days)I did a HCG blood test for peace of mind but unfortunately it's brought the opposite as it's come in at just 800 mIU/ml. I know what counts is that it doubles in 48 hours and I've found somewhere nearby that can test me tomorrow and give the results the same day but I'm just not sure I can handle bad news. I haven't had any morning sickness/tiredness which my mum and sister both suffered with extremely badly from 4 weeks so I'm also taking this as a bad sign.
I'm meant to be going away tomorrow evening for a long weekend with family for my mum's birthday and I hoped to be able to share the good news but now I'm dreading going/unsure how I'll cope if the news is bad tomorrow.
Any success stories from a low HCG test at the 5/6 week mark? For context, I'm 41 so feel like time is really running out for me if this one doesn't work out too...
