Stretch mark prevention?

I know it's not always possible to prevent stretch marks completely, but what did you use/do that helped to lessen them?

I used Palmers Cocoa Butter 'Tummy Butter' and didn't get any stretch marks but not sure if it was the cream or just a coincidence but it seemed to work for me :)

Ooh thank you for that @pollypocke - I will give it a go ☺️

Me too. I enjoyed slathering this on every night of my pregnancies. The lovely smell of it really takes me back to that time. I didn’t get one single stretch mark, but I’m told they’re hereditary.

nothing will prevent you getting stretch marks, if your body genetics are predisposed to, it will get it.

you’ll get people saying I used this and used that and got no marks, but they were genetically lucky.

The ‘miracle’ creams dont penetrate deep down into the skin where the stretch marks occur way deeper in the tissue than any cream can reach.

@Covetthee thank you that's interesting to know!

I’ve always heard it’s genetics so no point in expensive creams.

I didn't get any in either of my pregnancies. I've always drunk a lot of water so not sure if that helped or made no difference. Personally I wouldn't waste money on oils etc. I did in my second pregnancy moisturise it a few times towards the end just because it felt a bit tight.
