Can I bring 7yo to wait outside ultrasound scan?

My 7yo is throwing up and my 12 week scan is on Tuesday morning. We don't really have any childcare but I doubt she'll be able to be in school. Can we bring her and let her wait outside the scan room for us, or in the waiting area? Not sure what else to do at this stage.

Nope, totally inappropriate. If they can’t be in school then they certainly can’t be coming into a maternity unit and risking infecting staff and expectant parents.
To offer an additional insight, I was admitted to hospital with suspected pre-eclampsia and while in the ward I had to go for a scan to check the fluids around the baby. I went for the scan in the same place where mothers in the community were having their 12 and 20 week scans. My daughter was delivered later that day, 6 weeks prem. If I had contracted a stomach bug from the child of an inconsiderate parent and potentially passed it to my premature baby it could have been fatal.

Even if your child wasn't sick it's not the job of hospital staff to babysit while you are in for your appointment.

She should be fine by then. If she’s still throwing up on Sunday you should be taking her to the doctor anyway. I completely understand why you want someone to be there and as I’ve had a silent miscarriage I know how important it actually is.
