Slow rising HCG - been told to prepare for the worst. Any successful stories?

I am absolutely beside myself. My doctor has told me to prepare for the worst, I’m in shock.

I had my bloods drawn at 4w5d & HCG was 6180

Had them taken again this morning, 48 hours later, at precisely 5w & it has risen to 9182. Which is a 48% rise in 48 hours

Doctor (UK NHS) described this as a very (emphasised the very) sub-optimal rise, they are going to take them again in 48 hours & possibly do a scan next week but have told me to prepare myself that this could be an ectopic or unviable pregnancy

I’ve read so many conflicting things online though that say over 6000 the levels are slower to rise. I mentioned this to the doctor & she basically rubbished it, she said they were looking for a 67% rise as a minimum

Is there any hope in this? Anybody with anything similar & ended up with a healthy baby?

Suffered a loss in February, god I can’t go through this again

That looks like great numbers for your hcg for that gestation, I'm nearly sure I've heard that it rises more slowly once you hit 5000, and anything over 35% increase is a good sign? I think the fact yours was high to start with is a good sign. Hope you get good news with your scan/tests.
