I am 9 months post C Section delivery of my first child and would love to start trying again in the next few months - should I wait longer as I had a C Section?

A year post section is fine

My OB said after 6 months of birth (C section) I could try again.

I got pregnant again about 8 months after a C-section, my hospital/consultant hasn’t said anything negative about it.
However, I wish I had waited a year as looking after a 16 month old at 36 weeks is tiring and I have some niggly pains I never had with my previous pregnancies. 🙂

Literally the first thing that a midwife said to me when I was in recovery from my c section was 'Don't get pregnant for at least 12 months'

I think the above is standard advice. I do know a woman who got pregnant again soon after her c section. She was a 'high risk' pregnancy because of this, everything turned out ok in the end.

Currently 27 weeks pregnant and have a 15 month old via c section. So he was 9 months when I got pregnant. It's been recommended I have another c section as my last one was only last year so I think if you want a back wait longer as there's a higher risk of scar coming open during labour if it's not been so long! Other than that all health professionals have been super positive. My scar is very itchy the bigger I get but other than that no c section related issues so far x

Thank you all for your advice - really appreciate it. We're hoping to start trying after my daughter turns one and you've all given me the confidence to do so 😊

I fell pregnant 9 months post ELCS and nothing was said but on delivery the consultant said if I was to have another I needed another section as the uterus wall was thin
