Early scan, said Corpus Luteum cyst could be ectopic pregnancy?! So confused

I went for a scan & bloods taken this morning due to pain & spotting. Had previous miscarriages

I’m 4w6d according to my period (early I know but hospital said to come in anyway). Scan put me at 5w1d & was showing a gestational sac in my uterus, no yolk or fetal pole yet but apparently very normal for this early

Went for my follow up with the nurse & she said the ultrasound tech had put in my notes that there was a solid cystic mass on my left ovary, likely a corpus luteum but couldnt rule out an ectopic pregnancy

So I’m freaked out! Has anyone had this before where they’ve had a GS seen in their uterus but also a possible ectopic? I thought a CL cyst was quite normal in pregnancy but they have definitely freaked me out

I've had this. It was a CL cyst and a normal gestational sac in the uterus but due to it being so early nobody could rule out a second sac until around 6 weeks.

I had a cyst which was agony. Turned out to be a cyst that accompanies pregnancy. Didn't affect pregnancy whatsoever and went in time. Dd is 26!
