Dizziness in 2nd trimester

Hello all

I'm 26 weeks pregnant today (yay!) and this afternoon all of a sudden I have been getting really dizzy. Not just the normal pregnancy getting up too quickly headrush sort of dizziness but I am feeling dizzy all the time- especially if I look at something I wasn't previously looking at (i.e. move my eyes), turn around- basically anything involving moving I suppose.

I am well otherwise, not got a bug (or any symptoms anyway) and it is really annoying! Especially as I have a mountain of housework to do and was making jolly good progress in sorting out our downstairs after dh had been decorating all weekend.

Has anyone else experienced this? (the physical dizziness bit not dh decorating like a loon in advance of baby arriving part )

best to get your midwife to check it out as could be ya blood pressure or it could be summat that is not to worry about it but still check it out

Thanks biglips took your advice and called her, she's said to keep an eye on it and if it gets any worse/baby goes quiet for a long while/I start seeing stars constantly/get headache/vomit then I've got to call them back straight away. She thinks my blood pressure is just taking a bit of a dip.

It's just so so odd, never felt this unbalanced & disorientated before!

no worries as glad to help as it can come out of the blue these things.

It's possibly either your blood pressure, your blood sugar, or even being over tired. I have days like this (thankfully not for a few weeks but one of my tutors still keeps asking me if I am ok.

Make sure you are eating and drinking enough (mild dehydration can effect your blood pressure), and rest

I had this.

Because of my anaemia.

I'd ring your midwife and see what she recommends.

I got Labyrinthitis at about 26 weeks - caused by a virus. Made me feel dizzy all the time and really off balance. Hope for your sake it isn't that as it was awful. And because the Dr couldn't give me any medication due to being pregnant, I had to see a specialist who worked wonders with really horrible exercises.

Thanks all for replies, it;'s a bit better today (not worried about falling over now!)but will keep an eye on it and if it gets worse again will see GP. Ta x
