Very faint line on ebay cheapie preg test

We are currently trying for dc3. I miscarried at the end of February at 8 weeks. Decided to start trying again straight away, on Friday I decided to do a test, no reason, just thought that I would! There was a very very faint line that I had to look quite hard to see, it has got stronger with the next test or 3 that I have done.

I have no idea where I am in my cycle and I am convinced that it might be a chemical pregnancy. I am starting to get tingly nipples, but have no idea if I am imagining it. I have not even told DH yet as he was so upset about the miscarriage I don't want to get his hopes up.

I don't even know why I am rambling on like this, just wondered of anyone else has any advice. Well done if you have read this far!

Had you had a negative test after your miscarriage? I don't want to crush your hopes but I understand that the hormones can sometimes hang around a bit and a very faint line makes me wonder? It is over a month though isn't it - oooh hope it's good news for you both!

Yes had a negative test about 2 weeks ago, I did one for that reason as I wanted to make sure that there were no hormones still hanging around.

Don't want to get your hopes up but sounds hopeful, with this one I didn't really get a strong positive on ebay cheapies until a week late (after CBD BFP) I think ebay cheapies are rubbish unless you are late.

I had the faintest of faint lines on mine, what I did was do a usual pee one along with a control one using water, the water one was clear the pee one had the faint line.

tassisssss · 30/03/2008 20:55

well according to the hospital's dates i got a reasonably strong BFP on ebay tests at 3ish weeks

i reckon i was nearer 5 weeks at the time, but we'll see

good luck, if in doubt keep testing!

NorthernLurker · 30/03/2008 20:56

Oooh well in that case - sounds like you could be on to a good thing! Keep us posted - good luck!

I have found a clear blue hpt when I was clearing out the bathroom cupboard - so will do that tomorrow morning and let you know how I get on.
Thanks everyone!

I used the eBay cheapies and had exactly the same thing - it was very, very faint line that went to very faint - then I gave in and did a CB digital. It was a BFP. I was in the same situation as you, trying for DC3 and had had a MC a few months earlier. Keeping all fingers and toes crossed for you for testing tomorrow morning.

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 30/03/2008 21:18

sounds like a BFP to me good luck for tomorrow (sorry about your MC BTW) i have all my fingers crossed for you

best of luck toratora I was the same as well ttc no3 after a mc in August took 2 months to get a BFP am now 25 weeks.

SilverSixpence · 30/03/2008 22:32

I also bought an ebay test, it was the same as the nhs hospital one i nicked from work also got a faint line and am definitely pg! they seem to be reasonably reliable from what most people say...

toratora · 31/03/2008 21:12

Did a clear blue test this morning and a definite strong line appeared very quickly - so I guess that is a BFP! I still haven't told dh, although he may suspect as I fell asleep on the sofa this afternoon. Can't get excited about it though after last time - will probably keep testing -

congratulations

I know from experience it is a worrying time, you should get a scan about 7-8 weeks though as you have had a previous mc.

BigBadMouse · 31/03/2008 22:23

Fantastic - congratulations . Good luck for this time round. I'm 33wks pg with DC3 now but I was a lot less relaxed about the pregnancy since having a MC between this one and DC2, it's only natural I guess. I think the fact you decided to do a test without any partiular reason is a really good sign.

NorthernLurker · 01/04/2008 10:42

just seen this - great news!!!
