Hi everyone I am 17 weeks pregnant and none of my clothes fit anymore. I was expecting to buy maternity clothes but later rather than sooner as with my first child. Where does anyone recommend for good maternity clothes that don't cost the earth (preferably high street)? I was a size 18+ when I was pregnant before and am now a size 14 so needless to say all my previous maternity clothes are too big. Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you tried belly bands, it means you can still wear your current clothes.
I used to use them and just go round with my trousers undone!

I have only bought a couple of pairs of trousers - all tops are just a size up and are usually a vest with some form of smarter cardigan.

Gap, Next, H & M and Peacocks all have reasonable stuff but with tops, I have just stuck to biggers sizes from Primark etc.

May be you could try e-bay too?

New look has an ok range too as does red herring at debenhams, mothercare's worth a look as is Dorothy Ps but bit more hit or miss

online I like jo jo maman and blooming marvellous, verbaudet's worth a looks

I bought a few bits from ebay, some from Asda -just larger sizes. Gap are now doinf maternity stuff and H & M were great for inexpensive t-shirts. Well done for getting to 17 weeks with yur second! I only got to 13...

Ha! I'm 38 wks and none of my maternity clothes fit any more.

WHY do they sell maternity tops if they have no intention of making them big enough to cover a bump?

I plan to spend the next 2 weeks skulking in the house with the curtains closed and wearing a dustbin bag.

In answer to your question, H&M is pretty good.

I totally agree with you!! I was so upset the last few weeks of my prgncy. NOthing fitted and if you look in the catalogues the bloody models look like they aren't even prgt!

new look have got a new range in reasonably priced

if you've managed to get down to a 14 (well done ) then why not get tunic tops from tesco/asda/sanisburys?

mamas and papas and mothercare are both online too

Next has a sale on, including quite a bit of their maternity wear. Might be worth checking out on their website - I ordered a load yesterday!
